Throne of Seal Donghua 101

This is another Chinese cultivation anime that fans should watch out for as it promises to deliver the same vibes as the other works of Tang Jia San Shao. Furthermore, this is quite different from various xinxia stories that we had out there as this is a great combination of Eastern and Western fantasy cliches that will give us a different mood.

Alright, before the donghua’s release, let’s talk about first its source material, the novel and what can we expect from its story.

With wuxia (martial arts prowess), xinxia (cultivation), and xuanhuan (Western fantasy) – the Sealed Divine Throne is a full-circle ride of fun, excitement, and adventure. Also known as the Divine Throne or Shen Yin Wang Zuo, the novel had been popular among Chinese web readers and before it received a donghua adaptation, the novel was already adapted into manhua in 2014.

Synopsis

The novel was first published in 2011 and had been completed consisting of 871 chapters. It was published by Qidian and written by Tang Jia San Shao, one of the most prolific Chinese web writers who created some of the best and most popular xinxia stories out there such as Soul Land, Unrivaled Tang Sect, Child of Light, Zither Emperor, Ultimate Fighting, and Skyfire Avenue to name a few.

Among the common donghua antics that we can expect from the Throne of Seal anime series are tropes such as amnesia, demons, necromancer, romantic subplot, and almost every cliches from a Chinese anime featuring an OP main character.

Now, the question that many of us might be asking next, when is the release of Throne of Seal? Well, fans does not need to wait for that long, since the donghua is slated to premiere on April 28, 2022 on Tencent Video. It is animated by Shenman Entertainment and produced by Tencent Penguin Pictures, Xuanshu Tangmen, and China South Angel.
