Avid fans of Chinese cultivation donghua must have been excited as Han Li is now coming back for the official A Record of a Mortal’s Journey to Immortality Season 3 (RMJI) which is scheduled for release on November 25, 2023. This is such a great news, especially since we had been all hyped by its previously released 4-episode prologue which showcases what Han Li will have to deal with in the next chapter of his adventure in the Scattered Seas Plane.

Wonder Cat Animation together with Original Force are working together for A Record of a Mortal’s Journey to Immortality Season 3 with Bilibili as its official producer and distributor.
The series has gained the attention and interest of many Chinese animation enthusiasts due to its realistic approach to cultivation plots and having a different route compared to other xinxia series like Battle Through The Heavens and Soul Land. Meanwhile, A Record of a Mortal’s Journey to Immortality has been one of my top 5 Chinese cultivation anime because of its fast-paced yet excellent animation sequence, especially during fight scenes which makes it one of the most spectacular out there.
The donghua which first aired in 2020 is adapted from a web novel by Wang Yu and follows the story of Han Li, a poor and ordinary boy who steps into the dangerous and cunning world of cultivation. He was unassuming and somehow lucky, and the novel chronicles his journey from being that poor and powerless boy into becoming a powerful cultivator and achieving immortality in his own right.
A Record of a Mortal’s Journey to Immortality was one of my top recommended Chinese anime of 2020, and it gained momentum with its 2nd season that aired in 2021 which cemented the show as one of the favorites of donghua fans in the cultivation genre.
Now, we should all look forward to A Record of a Mortal’s Journey to Immortality Season 3 starting November 25 on Bilibili. For sure, many exciting plot twists will take our breath away as we follow Han Li’s journey.
