Chinese Anime Schedule: July 2022 Releases

From Tencent, Bilibili, Youku, and iQIYI we surely have plenty of great donghua to look forward to this summer of 2022 as this season will offer some of the most anticipated and very much-awaited series in recent years and that includes returning sequels as well as new series on which had been hyped by many fans including myself.

Chinese Anime Schedule: July 2022 Releases

Now, without further ado, let’s meet all the upcoming donghua releases this July 2022 from the major producers and streaming platforms as follows:

Rise of the Dragon

Jidao Long Shen | This donghua aired on July 2, 2022 and is one of the series from YOUKU that was released this summer.

Xian Wu Cangqiong

The latest 3D donghua from iQIYI and Ruo Hong Culture is here and it premiered on July 3, 2022.

Fantasy Mountain and Sea Ballad

Huanmeng Shan Hai Yan Hao | From Tencent Penguin Pictures and Studio Cloud Art, here’s an epic masterpiece in the fantasy genre that offers to bring new light to Chinese animation through its appealing narrative of isekai adventure through a magical ride and gives us a glimpse to the rich and mysterious elements of Chinese folklore. The series is set to air starting July 4, 2022.

Cinderella Chef Season 3

Meng Qi Shishen Season 3 | The highly anticipated return of the Adorable Food Goddess is finally here. The series had been first revealed as part of the 2022 donghua lineup as announced last year and the isekai journey filled with romance and adventure continues this year. The donghua returns on July 5, 2022.

Chivalrous Hero Shen Jianxin Season 3

JX3 Online donghua adaptation comes back for its 3rd season this year and many fans had been waiting for this since the series last aired in 2020. The hilarious journey continues and while the donghua has thrived as one of the best Chinese comedy anime, it also showcases splendid animation with pretty decent fight scenes that leave so much to adore about it. The donghua will premiere on July 8, 2022.

Shanghai Melody

Shanghai Gushi | Originally scheduled as part of the 2021 donghua lineup from Bilibili, the modern-day slice-of-life, and Chinese drama anime is finally here. A story about a young adult girl who had been struggling with her professional career and the harsh reality of life reminisce her happy days and all the lessons she learn from her father. I’m telling you to prepare some tissues for this since you might really end up crying in here. Shanghai Melody had been scheduled for release on July 10, 2022.

Blood and Heart

Xue Yu Xin | Based on a true story of a Japanese who went to China and never come back home as he joined the People’s Liberation Front and fell in love with China and its people. This might be another propaganda story but believe me, there are so many things to desire of from this donghua ranging from its gorgeous animation, patriotic story, and appealing and heartfelt narrative. It will begin airing on July 11, 2022 on Bilibili.

Fairy Mountain

Shan Hai Juelun | The long-awaited fantasy donghua from Bilibili is finally here. First announced in 2020, the series went through various delays, and finally, Fairy Mountain will start telling us the tale of amazing action and fantasy adventure like no other. Fairy Mountain will premiere on July 12, 2022.

Demon King

Cang Lan Jue | Adapted from a novel with the same name and also known as The Parting of the Orchid and Cang, or the Love Between Fairies and Devil is like any other star-crossed story that we had out there. It’s quite similar to The Demonic King Who Chases His Wife in many ways. This donghua is scheduled for release on July 15, 2022 on iQIYI and it will run for 24 episodes until December 16, 2022.

Battle Through The Heavens: Origin

Doupo Cangqiong: Yuanqi | The remake of the first season of Battle Through The Heavens together with additional scenes had been announced last year and here they are, it will mark the return of Xiao Yan for his long journey as the series is scheduled for release on July 17, 2022.

A Will Eternal Season 2

Yi Nian Yongheng: Chuancheng Pian | Brother Bai Xiaochun is coming back this summer and this had been determined since last year. But we are all excited about this as A Will Eternal became the best Chinese cultivation donghua in 2D format and his journey continues for another year-long stint starting July 19, 2022.

Sunshine Coffee

Yanguang Coffee Ting Zhi Xin You Ji | Scheduled for release on July 20, 2022; this short donghua with only 3 minutes length per episode will remind you of All Saints Street but above everything else, it will air for 52 episodes, which means an entire 1-year stint on Bilibili’s platform.

A World Worth Protective

Sancun Renjian |From Er Gen, the author of  A Will Eternal, and I Shall Seal the Heavens, here comes an exciting yet futuristic tale of adventure with fantasy elements. From Foch Film, this is an interesting collaboration between Bilibili, and Tencent Animation & Comics. The series will premiere on July 21, 2022.

Warring States Of a Millenia

Zhanguo Qiannian | Here’s an action and adventure-fantasy donghua from Bilibili that is scheduled for release on July 23, 2022. If you love action and conspiracy, this one is for you.

Fairies Album Season 3

Bai Yao Pu Season 3 (Bai Yao Pu: Jingshi Pian) | The divine doctor Tao Yao is coming back together with her usual gang in Fairies Album Season 3 and this time, a new studio is taking over its production, CMC Media. As one of the popular sequels from this lineup, we sure are crazy excited for this, after all, it shares a lot of similarities to anime like Natsume’s Book of Friends, Mushishi, and even to the badass donghua, Great Doctor Miss Nine. Bai Yao Pu Season 3 will premiere on July 25, 2022.

Legendary Twins

Adapted from the 1960s classic wuxia novel of the same title, Legendary Twins will offer an adventure that follows two young men set to fulfill their destiny amidst the different paths where they had been raised. Legendary Twins is set to air on July 25, 2022 on Tencent Video.

Shi Shaoxia Gunjue Hao Gudan

The hilarious donghua from iQIYI in collaboration with Big Firebird Cultural Media and HuaMei Animation comes next in the list. Scheduled for release on July 25, 2022; Shi Shaoxia Gunjue Hao Gudan promises to deliver the usual Chinese comedy antics that we all love and adore.

Xing Yuan Zhi Zhu

An original donghua from Xuanyuan production and Bilibili, it is animated by Ruo Hong Culture and scheduled for release on July 27, 2022; and set to have 48 episodes in total.

I Might Be a Fake Cultivator

Kao Ni La! Zhanshen Xitong | Hilarious yet exciting, here comes a series that might take over the empty void left behind by The Daily Life of the Immortal King and Spare Me Great Lord! I Might Be a Fake Cultivator is an exciting story yet truly obnoxious and funny. It is set for release on July 27, 2022.

Shaonian Bai Ma Zui Chun Feng

The prequel of the Great Journey of Teenagers, this is one of the donghua that I come eagerly waiting to see this year. This one is animated by CG Year and produced by YOUKU and Mango TV. The donghua is scheduled to air from July 27 until November 30, 2022; for a total of 20 episodes.

Summer Punch

Baozou Xiari | An action and comedy donghua from Bilibili and Painted Edge Animation. It is scheduled for release on July 28, 2022 and will run for 16 episodes until November 3, 2022.

Swarm

Hei Men | One of the most anticipated sci-fi donghua this year, Swarm had been first announced by Bilibili in 2020 but it took them 2 years to finally released it and we are all excited for it. Also known as Black Gate, the mystery and sci-fi donghua will premiere on July 29, 2022.

A gentle dragon of 5000 years old, it was recognized as an evil dragon without any cause.

Shi Cao Lao Long Bei Guanyi E Long Zhi Ming | Set for release on July 30, here’s a donghua that had been adapted from a Japanese work and that sounds cool, isn’t it? Animated by Studio LAN, the studio behind Link Click, this is a great show to keep an eye on this summer.

God Troubles Me Season 3

Hanhua Riji Season 3 | Scheduled for release on July 31, 2022; one of the most hilarious donghua ever is coming back and we should have it added to our watchlist this year. It is scheduled to get 12 episodes and it will air until October 9, 2022.

Battle Through The Heavens Season 5

Doupo Cangqiong: Nian Fan | The moment that we had been waiting for is here, July will not end without the presence of Battle Through The Heavens which will showcase Xiao Yan’s new adventure in the Black-Corner Region and his reunion with his childhood sweetheart Xuner. Battle Through The Heavens Season 5 release date is scheduled for July 31, 2022.
