Bai Lian Cheng Shen (Apotheosis) Donghua Adaptation 1st Trailer Unveiled

Apotheosis, also known by other names such as The Endless Road to Divinity, and Elevation to the status of a god, the popular Chinese web novel is now getting a donghua adaptation and its production committee has unveiled the first look at it with a new trailer.

Bai Lian Cheng Shen (Apotheosis) Concept Trailer

Quite similar to many fantasy donghua out there, here comes another exciting journey that we might all enjoy once again. Personally, it reminds me of donghua like Spare Me, Great Lord! (Da Wang Rao Ming), and The Chronologist (Li Shi), where the main character was bestowed with a magical item, an old artifact that will change his life.

Synopsis

Zen Luo, who is now a menial slave, used to be a young master of a big family, owing to the decline of his family, his sister is imprisoned by a strong force, and he has no choice but to be at others’ service. However, Every cloud has a silver lining, The ancient book left by his father actually conceals the magical spell, which can change a human into an instrument! What’s the mysterious power behind all these? This is a contest with fate.

Apotheosis donghua

The upcoming donghua is adapted from a novel of the same title (Bai Lian Cheng Shen) by Enci Jietuo (Gift of Liberation). The novel was also adapted into manhua with the title of White Lotus with Ran Zai Gongzuoshi (Ranzai Studio) as the illustrator in 2015.

It’d be one of those new donghua with cultivation and martial arts elements. With the BL antics from its source material and the donghua being a production from YOUKU this 2022, I think it’ll be one of the series that danmei fans should watch out for this year and put it alongside The Young Brewmaster’s Adventure, and Land of Miracles.
